BOOK DESIGN, LETTERING, ART DIRECTION

For almost a decade, I’ve been providing lettering for book covers. It all started with adapting foreign book titles from Latin letterforms into Cyrillic. Back in the day, there was a lack of good Cyrillic fonts, and many well-known Latin fonts didn’t have Cyrillic versions. So I began by re-drawing original titles, aiming to preserve their original style and mood.

Eventually, I started receiving client commissions for original lettering. That led me to become a book art director and designer.

To date, my lettering has adorned over 150 book covers. I’ve worked on many more books where lettering wasn’t involved. While most of my work can be found in the Russian-language market, I’ve also collaborated with publishers and authors around the world.
