BOOK DESIGN, LETTERING, ART DIRECTION

For almost a decade, I’ve been providing lettering for book covers. It all started with adapting foreign book titles from Latin letterforms into Cyrillic. Back in the day, there was a lack of good Cyrillic fonts, and many well-known Latin fonts didn’t have Cyrillic versions. So I began by re-drawing original titles, aiming to preserve their original style and mood.

Eventually, I started receiving client commissions for original lettering. That led me to become a book art director and designer.

To date, my lettering has adorned over 150 book covers — and I’ve worked on many more books where lettering wasn’t involved. While most of my work can be found in the Russian-language market, I’ve also collaborated with publishers and authors around the world.
